Spray membrane applied coatings applied for the Ideal Passive House system

Swirlforce recently started work airless spraying a Air and vapour tight membrane coating (Passive Purple) to the walls of this new build property prior to plasterboarding. This work was all part of the property achieving the Ideal Passive House system.

The next stage of the project for Swirlforce will be carrying out the internal decoration, hopefully we can keep you updated on this case study in the near future with the final images of the finished property.

Passive Purple is the Intelligent Membrane that provides airtightness, vapour control, radon barrier and is even fire proof to Fire Class C – SL, d0 (internal edition) and Fire Class B – S1, d0 (external, retrofit and X edition). It is fast becoming the recognised vcl membrane used worldwide to provide residential and commercial property owners with improved efficiency. It is flexible, watertight and easy to install.

What is a Passive House System

An Ideal Passive House system relies on five core design principles: superinsulation, an airtight envelope, high-performance windows, elimination of thermal bridges, and a Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) system. This design approach minimizes energy needed for heating and cooling by maximizing natural heat from the sun and occupants while preventing heat loss through the building’s exterior, resulting in comfortable indoor conditions and drastically reduced energy consumption.
