Swirlforce meets Prince Charles

Main contrator and all subcontractor's on this project where invited to the official opening by Prince Charles & Camilla on Friday. We are a local decorating company based in Mansfield which was established twelve years ago. Some of our past projects include the food court at Mcarthur Glenn and the new Sports World at Shirebrook. We are currently working on two hotels in Nottingham. We empoly over 50 staff.

With a dome bigger than St Pauls Cathedral, the former Devonshire Royal Hospital dominates the Buxton skyline. The magnificent Grade II* listed building has undergone extensive renovation to create a campus for the University of Derby College. Originally the largest unsupported dome in the world, it was built for the Duke of Devonshire to exercise and house his horses. It measures 50 metres in diameter and has a surface area of 3,000 sqm- a truly monumental undertaking for any commercial decorator.

"This is one of the most complex and interesting projects that we have undertaken involving teams of up to 30 decorators over a period of 18 months", said Richard Marriott, Swirlforce Director.

He and Robert Perry (Swirlforce Director) attended Fridays grand opening. The Prince had a tour of the buildings and then returned to the dome to give a speech where he is quoted as saying," he had visited the site some time ago when it had been in a state of disrepair, and that it was tremendous to see it restored to its former glory and will bring something back to the community."

Robert Perry commented," Richard and myself had an overwhelming feeling of pride that our company was involved in a royal opening and we were surrounded by our craftmanship".
